Lakewood official denies conflict charge over district split
Lakewood Councilman Mark Hannaford denied colleagues’ charges that he favored Long Beach over Lakewood in redistricting disputes. He said forming a separate Lakewood district is legally and financially impossible, warning taxes would skyrocket and facilities remain unequal. He criticized Burns Smith and Baker for attacking him and defended his own residency and teaching role.
