Parents in 1974 vow to show children respect and rights
In a reflective column, Helen pledges to be nicer to her kids, promising patience and attention. Episcopal Bishop urges world need for church in Los Angeles
The Rt. Rev. C. Kilmer Myers of San Francisco spoke at the 78th annual meeting of the Episcopal Churchwomen of the Los Angeles Diocese, outlining how faith offers meaning and relief from modern anxieties. Nearly 500 attendees heard Myers discuss icons, Mary, and the church’s role while noting his controversial stances on Vietnam, birth control, and women in the priesthood. The luncheon preceded the installation of Los Angeles’ new bishop, with Robert Rusack to be installed at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
