Regents Begin Pay Talks in Two Day Meeting
In Sacramento regents opened a two day session with two new ex officio members Wilson Riles and Bob Moretti. They discuss proposed 112 percent faculty pay hikes plus 5.3 percent fringe benefits for the nine campus system and a 13 percent rise for state college faculty with 6 percent fringe benefits. Guidelines for student newspapers were debated after a 1970 resolution criticized campus papers as vehicles of advocacy and for lewd content.

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Barnard B. Glickfeld was censured by the California Supreme Court for intemperate comments during a rape trial. The punishment, proposed by the Commission on Judicial Qualifications, marks only the second public censure in state history. The ruling cited insulting remarks toward the rape victim and conduct prejudicial to justice. Morris, the rape defendant retrial, remains in custody amid related charges.
