Marines Fight Tunnels on Batangan Peninsula
UPI reports Marines with 15 caliber pistols and flashlights killed 28 Viet Cong and captured 136 in two mile tunnels on Batangan Peninsula. Marines and 2,000 South Vietnamese troops swept the area, with tunnel rats like Lance Cpl. William Cox among those entering tunnels. The drive into the peninsula produced 37 guerrillas killed and 36 captured, with 3,785 guerrilla suspects rounded up.
