A New York court sentenced a widow to 20 years to life for abducting a baby from St Peter's Hospital Brooklyn on Jan 2. The accused claimed the infant found in her apartment was hers. The husband was at work at a logging company. Fire started when the mother tried to light a wood stove. Older siblings Ruth 8 John Thomas Rosemarie 4 and Mary Lou 14 months were among those saved.
