McCarthy Book Charges Kennedy Broke Promise
A British book quotes Sen. Eugene McCarthy claiming Sen. Robert Kennedy broke a pledge not to oppose him for the Democratic presidential nomination. The interview, tied to the book Divided They Stand, recounts a 1968 meeting in Kennedy’s office with McCarthy noting Kennedy’s assurances for a clear run in 1968 in return for support in 1972. Kennedy aides dismissed the quotes as inaccurate, saying no private word was given.

Scientists say UFOs not from other worlds
A NAS blue ribbon panel will endorse the Condon report's main finding that there is no evidence UFOs are extraterrestrial spaceships. The Air Force funded the $500 010 two year study led by Dr Edward A Condon. The academy panel will release the findings alongside the report, with no strong disagreement on conclusions and notes that further UFO inquiry may be unwarranted.
