Kennedy Nanny Reveals Kennedys Tolerant on Prayers
Maud Shaw, former nanny to John F Kennedy’s children, recalls in Ladies Home Journal how the Kennedy family was broadminded about prayers. She recounts teaching a child a prayer and Mr Kennedy asking if it was English, and a mix up between Catholic and Protestant versions of the Lord’s Prayer. Mrs Kennedy forgave the slip and smiled.

Shakeup urged in fight on poverty by GOP lawmakers
Washington UPI reports Reps Albert H. Quie and Charles E. Goodell urged a major reorganization of Sargent Shriver’s anti poverty agency. They call for admin savings to fund Head Start child care and community action without bigger HEW budgets. Their plan would require poor boards and prioritize child aid over teens and adults. Fifteen Democratic freshmen proposed a separate program to reduce unemployment by training a million hard core workers for government jobs.
