Irvine Lake to Open With Heavy Trout Stocking in January
Irvine Lake will open January 18 with a Friday through Tuesday schedule, closed Wednesdays and Thursdays for restocking. Russ Cleary will stock 4,000 to 7,000 pounds of trout before opening, planning over 106,000 fish for the nine-ninth season, including catchable trout up to five or six pounds. Cleary, from June Lake, runs one of the state’s largest rental boat fleets, with boats available on site. Reservations for opening weekend only are urged, and Whopper Club trophies reward large fish.
