Paramedic Amputates Leg To Free Trucker From Wreck
A 33 year old truck driver Billy Hupene Godwin of Windsor North Carolina remained conscious as a 1 A year old paramedic amputated his remaining leg to free him from a tangled cab after a high speed crash on Interstate 64 near Norview Avenue. The driver suffered multiple injuries including severed legs and arm. Rescue squads from Norfolk and Virginia Beach assisted along with police and fire departments. The operation caused traffic jams and minor collisions along the highway. Godwin was taken to Norfolk General Hospital in critical condition for emergency surgery.
