Lt. (ig) David Eisenhower will be released from Navy duty March 31, marking his 25th birthday. He will have served two years and five months on active duty, among about 2,000 junior officers granted early release. A White House spokesman said future plans are undecided.
Washington testimony says FBI conducted comprehensive investigation into the Watergate bugging case and offered Senate access to raw files and specialists. Gray, new FBI director nominee, pledged nonpartisan, thorough enforcement and cooperation with lawmakers while denying political misuse of speeches. He noted no restrictions on file access and readiness to brief senators with agents on duty. Byrd indicated opposition to his confirmation.
Kenneth Como 30 testified in the Manson related trial saying he was willing to die for the Manson family and remains with that stance. He described a life marred by 45 arrests beginning at 18 and criticized the penal system as dehumanizing.
