Solar Lunar Boom Aims at Eclipse Shadow
New York scientists report an eclipse on March 7 may reveal a solar lunar boom as the moon's shadow travels through the atmosphere. ESSA stations worldwide will place multiple microphones to detect any faint sound while noting wind and cloud effects. The event marks a historic continental U S total eclipse with Miahuatlan Mexico as a prime observation site guided by Don ald H Menzel of Harvard Smithsonian.
