Johnny Ballad rises from San Antonio nights to record heartbreak
A young singer known as Johnny Ballad builds a local following in San Antonio clubs after a terrace jam session gains him a job at the King of Clubs. Signed by Wildcat Records, a later label Era Records also shows interest but several breaks derail releases and careers. Ballad performs internationally, languages, and novelty acts, while venues and other artists are noted.
