Youth 18 Admits Two Robberies in Long Beach
An 18 year old ex bandit on probation admitted to two armed robberies in Long Beach early this month totaling 795 dollars. Willian Robert O Kelly, 803 West Athens Street, is charged with two counts of armed robbery. Two aldermen in the city jail are implicated in both crimes, investigated for conspiracy to commit robbery. O Kelly was arrested Thursday attempting to burglarize a drugstore at 9th Street and Daisy Avenue. He had been released from county jail last October after six months for robbery and placed on three year probation. Detectives found handcuffs in his apartment used to bind Gilbert Cavin during a February 7 home robbery of 200 dollars at 623 West Hill Street. Six high school girls and two others have sentences or probation connected to other cases, with various legal actions and bail conditions noted.
