Alioto Seeks Federal Ruling in Million-Dollar Fee Fight
San Francisco Mayor Joseph L. Alioto asked a U.S. District Court to block a Washington state court suit seeking repayment of 2.3 million dollars in legal fees and to decide his rightful fee. He argues the value should be between 4.6 and 5.4 million based on services for antitrust suits against major electrical equipment makers and settlements totaling 16.25 million. The King County suit contends the fee was improperly shared, while Alioto seeks an immediate stay to allow federal review of the fee issue.
