1st Fatal Crash on Bridge
A Sal Pedro man, Harry Frank Peer, 42, of 722 W. Santa Cruz St, was killed in a center bridge collision on the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles Harbor. Kidnapped Girl Found Murdered in Gaffney
The body of 15 year old Opel Dianne Buckson, a likely Gaffney strangling victim, was found today. Sheriff Julian V. Wright identified Leroy Martin as the suspect, taken into custody at his textile mill job. He is charged with this murder for now, with no charges yet for other killings. The girl had disappeared Tuesday after being kidnapped and forced into a car trunk along the highway. Her body was found half a mile off a state highway in thick woods.
