Judge halts Alta-Dena Dairy raw milk sales in Commerce
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge issued a temporary restraining order stopping Alta-Dena Dairy of Commerce from distributing or selling raw or certified milk. The order, issued during a civil suit by Richard Heidbrechter and health officials, requires proof of absence of disease producing organisms and sets a preliminary injunction hearing for Feb. 28. The dairy filed a $10 million claim against the county stemming from Heidbreder's Jan. 24 bat.

Wreck on San Bernardino Freeway Halts Traffic
A trailer truck carrying drinking glasses split apart early today on the San Bernardino Freeway. Broken glass blocked inbound lanes for about four hours. The driver, James Jones, 39, of Whittier, was reported in good condition at White Memorial Hospital. Police said traffic backed up for more than four miles near Soto Street before cleanup.
