Secret Nazi squad leaders convicted of murders in wartime crimes
Three officers of a covert Nazi unit were found guilty by Hamburg State Court of murdering forced helpers during World War II. Max Krasmer Otto Goldapp and Otto Drews aged 63 69 and 57 received maximum life terms after a four month trial for shooting gassing or dynamiting hundreds of Polish and Soviet slave laborers recruited for Special Command 1005. The case exposed mass graves in White Russia and the Bidlystock area with tens of thousands of bodies burned on stakes in 1943 and 1944.
