Southern California Rapid Transit District officials presented to the Board of Supervisors a plan to fund a countywide flat 30 cent bus fare with a 5 cent transfer charge, plus substantial subsidies. The package requests $6.8 million for 1974-75 operating deficits and $18.688 million to support the 30 cent fare, with an additional $3.5 million for 300 new buses and $1.2 million to launch a commuter rail link between Chatsworth and the San Fernando Valley.
