Slaying of Mirabile nets five more arrests in San Diego
Five men and women, including a man cops call the gunman, are held in the December 27 murder of Tony Mirabile, San Diego tavern owner. Wilfred Robarge, 39, was arrested in Manhattan Beach and booked on murder suspicion. Other suspects include Victor Buono, Ernest Murray, John Henry Thwaits, and Jean Norton. Police say a gunman linked to a plot was hired to rob Mirabile, who reportedly carried $1,000 bills. Mirabile’s nephew Filippa Aquato and a resident woman identified Mrs. Horton as the blonde seen that night.
