Lew Alcindor may skip NBA ABA to join Harlem Globetrotters
UCLA star Lew Alcindor, the towering All-American center, could avoid the NBA and ABA and sign with the Harlem Globetrotters. ABA coach Hale Malo suggests the Globetrotters offer more fan appeal and money, while NBA teams worry about acquiring him as a top draft prize. The piece also notes growing support for the ABA three point rule and the official adoption of the tri colored ball for the rest of the 1967-68 season.
