A Lakewood Boulevard go-kart track was shut by the Long Beach Police on Wednesday after a 14 year old driver was seriously injured. Stanley Irwin had foot injuries requiring surgery at Community Hospital. Police said the city track lacks municipal code provisions for go-karts and racers are restricted to private property.
