New Explosive Weapon Used in Vietnam Reported
Two scientists visiting South Vietnam in August said the Air Force uses a new high explosive bomb with a lethal 750 acre to 1,000 acre impact, creating a mushroom cloud and clearing land for helicopter assaults. They cited embassy confirmation and a briefing noting a 3,260 foot concussion radius, with the blast described as devastating and among the most powerful nonnuclear weapons.
