In Detroit James Fitch, 27, a Delta Otto resident, received a kidney transplant after Bradley Van Newkirk, 7, was killed in an auto crash and his father Dr Karl Van Newkirk agreed to donate his living son’s kidney. Fitch called the gift the finest Christmas present of his life as he lay in hospital. Funeral services for Andrea, radio pioneer Frank A D Andrea, were held in Manhasset New York. Andrea built famous FADA radio consoles and is survived by his wife and three children. Senator Stuart Symington spent Christmas in Korea with American troops, meeting President Park Chung Hee and visiting frontline divisions with Gen Beach and Ambassador Brown.
