Motorcycle gang chief sentenced in shooting
Marius Andrew Savoy and two followers from the Hessians outlaw motorcycle gang were sentenced after pleading guilty to assault with intent to commit murder in the shooting of Kenneth Leftwich in Santa Ana Canyon. Savoy received one to 14 years in state prison. Cass and Lyons got county jail terms. Leftwich survived after six hours.

Embezzlement charge in Tucson tied to estate funds
Leroy Page 38, a Tucson stock broker, appeared in Superior Court on seven counts of embezzling 177,000 dollars from the estate of a 6 year old Tucson girl Katrina Decker. Page and former attorney John Rosenberg 43 were co executors after the 1985 death of William Decker. Page was released on his own recognizance pending a preliminary hearing.

Woman Guilty in Stepdad Death in Long Beach Trial
A Long Beach Superior Court jury found Piana M. Lindsey, 3, guilty of involuntary manslaughter for shooting her stepfather Josep D. Exbergon, 37, amid a dispute over custody of her 9 year old son. Lindsey testified she feared Exbergon. The incident occurred on the back steps of his home. A Jan. 11 sentencing hearing was scheduled, and Lindsey remained in county jail on $25,000 bail. The trial judge instructed the jury on possible verdicts including murder and self defense. In a related note, the Los Cerritos YMCA will host a basketball clinic at Bellflower High School Gym starting at 10 a.m. January 6, with Dave Fahs directing.
