Caltrans chief and road commission clash over plans
In Sacramento, Transportation Director Adriana Gianturco and Highway Commissioner Joseph Sinnott led a day-long dispute over the six-year highway program and funding. The commission accuses the department of underfunding while Gianturco argues funds are programmed and not extra. Tensions also flared over district office management, Bakersfield and Monterey County construction, and an Irvine overcrossing bid.
