March 29 set for opener at Casitas in Lake Casitas area near Ventura. Tenn Todd, revolutionary superintendent, writes that the lake will be opened to public use for the first time. Bandtail Pigeon Season Opens Saturday in California
The bandtail pigeon season begins Saturday with a four bird limit but birds are scarce across Southern California at the time of writing. Best hunting areas include oak forests around Ojai in Santa Barbara County, Silverado Canyon in Orange County, and Juan and Palomar in San Diego County.
Space Available on Baja Flights
Four stats are available on two flights to Rancho Buena Vista Dec. 26, says Chuck Walters, one of the resort operators. Chuck says that marlin are starting to run south of La Paz, where Buena Vista is situated. Dolphin, tuna and roasterfish are running in big schools. Anyone interested may reach Walters at P. O.
