Top Reagan aide resigns to join Sacramento lobby firm

George R. Stettes, a key Reagan aide since 1966 and long-time legislative lieutenant, resigned Monday to join California Advocates Inc in Sacramento. He helped shape the governor’s programs and decisions on bills, with no successor named yet, and will become a principal officer at the firm.

Orange County gains seven judgeships in new legislation

Gov. Reagan signed bills AB 1786 and AB 2746 adding seven judges to Orange County courts. Superior Court seats rise from 23 to 24. municipal courts increase from eight to nine. Harbor and South Orange County Courts grow to four and three respectively. Seals usable after March 4.
