California Security Guards Now Required to Train and Test
CaliforniaLadies: Security guards with firearms must complete an eight hour training course, pass a written test and range test, and renew annually with in house and state oversight. The program reduced armed guards from about 15 000 to 1 000 and cut shooting incidents in the first eight months of 1976 versus 1975.

Anaheim teachers weigh one day walkout over bargaining rights
The Anaheim Secondary Teachers Association voted Sunday to consider a one day walkout on January 14 if the district fails to grant formal bargaining representation. President Jack Clement said 650 of 1,066 members met and voted overwhelmingly to back the plan, conditional on ratification before January 14. Superintendent Ken Wines hopes for a solution beforehand. The move would affect 16 junior high and nine high schools across Anaheim and nearby areas.
