Mummy on Pike tied to outlaw lore in Long Beach
The Long Beach mummy in police custody is believed by multiple sources to be Elmer McCurdee, the outlaw known for not being taken alive. The exhibit, linked to a traveling show since the 1920s, was displayed in a warehouse before transfer to the Hollywood Wax Museum and later sold to a Long Beach amusement firm. Evidence includes lack of fingerprints, recent chest wound, and embalming fluids from the 1800s while investigators study teeth for ID. A film crew accident damaged an arm during a Six Million Dollar Man shoot.
