Alameda man jailed for吃ing meals defrauding innkeeper
A 27 year old California man, Dale Anderson of Alameda, received five days in jail for defrauding an innkeeper after he ate two shrimp cocktails, two bottles of champagne, two roast beef dinners, a smart turkey and a rib eye steak at a Peoria Illinois restaurant and could not pay 31.50. He was credited for four days already served. Anderson, a student headed to Florida to attend school, claimed he was cold and hungry. In Maine, Armand Fortier won the state Senate seat in a recount, defeating Norman Ferguson 6006 to 5073. Fortier, a Democrat from Rumford, had previously said he did not wish to serve again. Ferguson, the state treasurer, had threatened to resign if he won and would have given up his treasurer job to keep the Senate seat.
