Trial Is Postponed In Manson Killings Case
The trial of Charles Manson and three followers for the Tate-LaBianca murders was postponed 11 days to allow lead attorney Maxwell Keith time to prepare. Judge Charles Older granted the delay amid a search for missing defense attorney Hughes, who vanished near Thanksgiving. Bruce Davis, a Manson family member, was charged with murdering musician Gary Hinman in Topanga Canyon a week before the Tate killings.

Glider Crash Kills Two at Lake Elsinore
Two 24 year old men, David Willard Jeffers of Nashport Ohio and Raymond Bouchard of Costa Mesa, died when a glider spiraled about 3000 feet and plunged into the dry lake bed near Lake Elsinore. Investigators from federal aviation and Riverside County sheriff outlined witnesses saw the spiral and no recovery before arrival at a local hospital.
