County Orders Car Smog Control for San Diego Vehicles

San Diego County Board of Supervisors requires all used cars sold in the county to have approved crankcase emission control devices by Jan. 3. The measure, approved 3 to 2 after testimony on rising ambient air levels since 1955, also sets a deadline for private used car and commercial vehicle owners to install the devices by the end of 1965.

Subway Tokens Helped Two Boys Fly to New York

In Boston two 12 year old boys used subway tokens and a plan to travel to New York. They rode to Logan Airport and boarded an Eastern Air Lines shuttle, posing as passengers until a stewardess noticed an empty cabin and alerted authorities. New York police then ordered the flight back to Boston.
