California reports thin cash surplus in state books
California wound up its bookkeeping with a thin cash surplus of 131,743 in the General Fund as of June 30, reported by State Controller Houston J. Flournoy. He cautioned the figure may change when the final 1966-67 report is issued in December, noting accrual accounting allows counting anticipated revenue before it reaches the treasury. The General Fund revenue stood at 2.89 billion for the year.
