Nixon to release documents under court ruling plan
Presidential counsel Philip Buchen told a federal court he plans to comply with the Senate Intelligence Committee subpoena for Nixon era records about efforts to prevent Salvador Allende’s rise in Chile in 1970 and about domestic intelligence operations. The DOJ filed the motion in US District Court asking guidance on whether a court order blocks disclosure. The district court had impounded Nixon tapes and documents pending ownership determination between the government and Nixon.
