Public rejects expanding Indochinese refugee intake
A Harris poll of 1,510 adults shows broad opposition to admitting 100,000 Indochinese refugees, including 15,000 from Southeast Asia. Majorities across regions and political views oppose resettlement, citing past Vietnamese refugee integration and a belief the U.S. has no obligation. Only college-educated respondents split, with 43 percent favoring entry.
