Orbiter Near Moon Aims to Sharpen Lunar Photos
Hampton Va AP reports the 850-pound Lunar Orbiter was set to fire its velocity control to lower altitude from 31 to about 23 miles in a test to reduce image blur on high resolution film. Engineers noted smear may come from the film transfer motor triggering the shutter. The craft also prepared to transmit Earth photos and continues mapping nine potential Apollo landing sites.

Death Toll Seven In Indiana Blast
Police confirmed all victims recovered from the Phelps-Dodge Copper Products Corp explosion in Fort Wayne.
