Food stamps to be issued at Lakewood Post Office
The Postal Service will open a food stamp sales outlet in Lakewood replacing Crocker Citizens National Bank at 5001 Hazelwood Ave. The bank will quit food stamp operations Sept. 30. If approved by supervisors, Lakewood would be the first Post Office in Los Angeles County to operate the program. The Clark Ave outlet should open before the Crocker closure, but no firm date is given. About 2,200 residents in Lakewood benefit from the program.
