Goodyear Plant and Apartment Damaged in Fire
Fire at the Goodyear Tire Co. building on Anaheim Street damaged tires and equipment, with losses possibly over 50 000 dollars. Two Long Beach police officers awakened residents in the Linden Avenue apartment house and helped evacuate three apartments. Officers Patcomen P H Smith and Jack P Shadduck, who discovered the blaze, arrested two looters identified as Laurence Morrall and Ernest York. Officer Shadduck was injured during the escape but refused treatment.
