MacDonald will help shape state party policy and the 1960 GOP campaign, and he previously served as an alternate on the County Central Committee. He and his wife Jean live at 4167 Greenbrier Rd with their three children.

Edward Alexander Reeves 93, longtime California resident and citrus rancher, died today after living in Anaheim since ISIC. Born in Willlowbrook Montana, he arrived in 1876 via covered wagon and settled first in San Bernardino. Survived by stepdaughter Mattie Lou Maxwell and son-in-law W C Maxwell of Long Beach. funeral at 2 pm Thursday at Sucks Kaulbars Troutman Mortuary chapel Anaheim.

Balboa Doctor and Son Drown After powerless Boat Drifts
A Balboa physician Dr Sterling Paris aged 43 and his 11 year old son Arthur drowned when their powerless 12 foot outboard craft drifted away during a marine fishing trip off Santa Catalina Island. Coast Guard helicopter found the overturned boat ten miles off Newport Harbor but no trace of the doctor or boy. Other boats in the party including Mike Bahan, 13, tried to restart engines and search before heading back. the group had left Newport Beach Friday evening, engine trouble struck about five thirty eight miles out. The survivor Mrs Mayt Ba han described a large sea and recalled her husband an excellent swimmer. The doctor was described as knowledgeable about the sea and relatives speculated they may have drowned while clinging to life vests or cushions.

L B Man Fined 500 On Rookie Bookmaking Charge
Howard Lee Cupp of 5631 Atlantic Ave was fined 500 by Superior Judge Maurice C Sparling as a condition of two year probation on a bookmaking charge. An unemployed refrigeration mechanic he admitted taking horse bets by phone from his apartment and was arrested there July 3.
