Government sues to halt subsidence in Wilmington Field
The U S government files a civil action against the State of California Long Beach and about 400 oil producers in the Wilmington Oil Field to stop land sinking. It seeks a field wide repressurizing plan within 60 days or shutdowns until a subsidence abatement program is properly executed. Damages up to 200 million dollars are requested.
