NCAA cost cuts could save up to $18 million
Proposals at the NCAA convention could trim football and basketball grants and staff, with estimated savings of $16 to $18.5 million for Division I schools. Reducing grants and eliminating the $15 monthly athlete stipend could each save several million, while coaching staff cuts could save about $6 million to $7 million.
