Brown accuses Nixon of double dealing on labor reform
SAN DIEGO CA August 12 1959 Governor Edmund Brown accuses Vice President Nixon of double dealing on labor issues calling SB 205 a failed measure and citing Republican opposition as proof. He lauds a fair standards bill and lists state labor and tax reforms while criticizing national labor politics at the AFL CIO gathering. A Los Angeles hearing set August 17 will bar the Teamsters from organizing operators hauling across 33 Midwest states amid threats to use starvation as leverage, according to Little Audrey's Transportation Co executives.
