SPACE CENTER Houston UPS The three crew members aboard a Skylab simulated flight report missing female companionship most during two weeks of isolation. Captain Crippen Dr Thornton and Maj Bobko say they are in good condition with minor equipment issues and some diet fatigue. Thornton notes the $3 million test seems worthwhile and Bobko cites desire for more variety in tasks.

Earth's second moon closest in nearly a century
A planetoid nicknamed Toro, Earth’s presumed second moon, passed within 12.6 million miles Tuesday, the nearest approach in almost a century. Discovered last October, Toro is too small to see with low power telescopes but was tracked by observatories and Goldstone radar confirming its existence.

Snowmobile accident injures Michigan man in lawn test ride
iNew snowmobile owner Michael Cochrain, 28, of Slacota Mich, was testing the machine on his lawn when a ski caught in the ground, pitching him off and causing a shoulder injury. State Police were alerted to the incident in cold conditions.

Study Links Socioeconomic Status to Child Obesity
A UPI report from Chicago summarizes Pennsylvanian researchers who studied 3,300 white children in New York Philadelphia and Wilmington Del showing lower income youth have higher obesity rates by ages 6 12 and 18 for both girls and boys. The study cites 83 percent of obese children likely becoming obese adults and notes social factors outweigh individual pathology. Drs Albert Stankard Eugene DAgnili Sonja Fox and Ross Filion led the University of Pennsylvania psychiatry team.
