Carson City Council delays zone change for Elks Lodge shopping center
The council granted a 30 day delay in a zoning case tied to a $35 million shopping center and industrial park proposed by Dunn Properties near Avalon and Del Rio. The plan includes Sears and J C Penney stores, with opposition to industrial zoning unless assured the project proceeds. The MPD zoning was rejected in favor of a buffer and manufacturing area, while a separate lodge site on 281 Street was rezoned from residential to restricted commercial.
