Two felony charges against former Wilson High School student body president James Y. Joiner, 23, were dismissed by Superior Judge Maurice Sparling. The city prosecutor reported he will be rearrested next week on a misdemeanor warrant for the same alleged offense. Joiner allegedly took a car from an auto agency garage without permission and without paying a repair bill. The judge freed him on burglary and grand theft counts due to an Appellate Court ruling that the offense is a misdemeanor under a civil code provision for obtaining possession of a vehicle subject to a lien.
