City set hearings on alley improvements under 1911 Act
Councilmen scheduled public meetings for June 6 to consider two alley improvement resolutions under the 1911 Act. One project covers alleys east of Lewis Avenue from 11th to 12th streets, the other east of Gardenia Avenue from Marshall Place to Carson Street. On petition from property owners, the city engineer was ordered to prepare plans for alleys east of Pine Avenue between Burnett and 25th streets.

The city manager was instructed to advertise for bids for park improvements between Woodruff and Pato Verde avenues at an estimated $14,400. Four backstops will replace diamonds near Veterans Stadium. A reinforced concrete slab project 90 by 110 feet will be built between Bellflower Boulevard and Woodruff Avenue. the court will be fenced and lighted at an estimated $13,200.

Park Landscaping Approved for Bouton Creek Park Project
