Seal Beach Approves Smaller Downtown Housing Units
Seal Beach City Council narrowly approved a zoning amendment after a lengthy session, reducing R-2 and R-3 dwelling sizes and lowering coastal district building heights. The plan calls for 700 and 600 square foot minimums and a 30 foot height cap, amid objections from two council members. The vote also allowed a pier facilities lease raising city revenue to 26,500 annually, despite concerns over operating costs.
