Long Beach and Vicinity mostly clear through Friday with highs around 76. Mountain Areas sunny and warmer, lower valley highs 25 87. Palm Springs area 90 to 95, lows 45 to 58. Antelope Valley and Mojave 85 to 95 with clear nights. Offshore winds near Mexican border light then west in afternoons, patchy fog along south coast.

Open Book DMV Plan Makes Driver Test Harder to Fail

Sacramento reports the California DMV will reshuffle 50 open book driver license questions to follow the Motor Vehicle Code sequence. Test duration rose from about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes in pilot sites while complaints said the format is impractical for busy motorists.
