House OKs Nixon School Aid Cuts
The House approved a two year extension for Federal school aid programs consolidating four aid lines into a single block grant. Private schools would gain loan access for instructional equipment and teachers in urban areas could receive bonuses. Bipartisan support sailed past a three year plan despite Democratic opposition.
