Tennessee Senate votes to allow teaching of evolution
Tennessee Senate approved a measure to permit Darwin theory teaching while banning its presentation as fact. The debate tied to a 42 year old anti evolution law, with opponents citing religion and fears of undermining faith, and supporters calling the statute antiquated. Last week a teacher at Jacksboro was fired for violating the old law, amid national attention.
